The City & Awards Luncheon hosted by the Worshipful Company of Builders Merchants.

This week our Director Jamie was at the City & Awards Luncheon hosted by the Worshipful Company of Builders Merchants.

The annual event brings together merchants, manufacturers from across the building materials sector and affiliations to celebrate the achievements of some people.

Held in Apothecaries Hall in the heart of the City of London, the setting itself provided a fitting backdrop rich in heritage and firmly focused on the future of our industry.

The perfect balance between formality and warmth, creating an atmosphere where recognition, encouragement and genuine pride were felt throughout the room.

At its core, the awards are about shining a spotlight on emerging talent. It was inspiring to see so many young individuals being recognised not just for their technical ability, but for their dedication, work ethic and commitment to progressing within the sector.

These are the people who represent the future of our sector.

From apprenticeships and training programmes to wider charitable efforts, the reach and impact go far beyond what many might expect.

The stories shared throughout the event brought this to life. Each award recipient had their own journey some overcoming challenges, others seizing opportunities but all demonstrating a clear passion for what they do.

It’s these personal stories that resonate the most, reinforcing why investment in people remains one of the most important things we can do as an industry.

A fantastic event, brilliantly delivered, and a reminder of just how important it is to celebrate success along the way.
